The Black Hand

The Black Hand, or La Mano Nera in Italian, was an unorganized, secret criminal and terrorist society that was active in New York in the early 20th century.

This painting was a companion piece to another painting in the Portfolio titled The Black Heart. The definition of Black Heart is a woman who is as wicked and evil as the worst of your nightmares, who you do not want to anger, because when she’s angry, she kicks people in the passenger seat out of moving cars. Not cool.

Both paintings received First Place awards in juried competitions. They make a lovely couple. If you’d like to see how they looked together, just scroll to the bottom of the page.

The photo to the left is from 1st Dibs, one of the online galleries that Reeves works with. It shows their pricing of the painting. When I picked up my paintings from the gallery, they purchased the painting from me. (See photo for sale information) Dimensions: 30 in x 40 in.
