Chi-Sci-Fi
This is a large painting (60 x 72 in), originally done from a sketch given to me, to be hung in a large media room. It’s a mixture of dinosaurs, Buck Rogers spaceships, superheroes, and large Japanese giant-monster films (basically men in rubber suits trampling cardboard cities).
The development of atomic weapons in the 1940s started the theme of giant creatures, everything from Godzilla to Gamera, a giant turtle, all created by some folly of humanity, usually nuclear radiation.
This was the first painting of mine sold by Reeves Gallery, the largest gallery in Houston, Texas. The photo is from 1st Dibs, one of the online galleries that Reeves works with. Although initially painted as a commissioned work, it was sold to a collector in Houston. (See photo for sale information)
